Kalimbas nine categories, less than 11.5 to 26 cm in diameter: Micros: coconut bowl. Minis: bowl of coconut or gourd. The small, medium, large, very large, xxl and finally prototypes and electro-acoustic.: bowl in gourd or in tropical gourd (calabash).. We only use solid woods. For each kalimba, the table comes in three wood types: cypress, walnut or mahogany. The front bridge is in ebony , the back one is in oak ,in general. We also use amaranth and boxwood for the prototypes. For the pressure bar: a copper tube which can be also solid wood (see "accessories"). We also use butterfly nuts in brass and flexible,sounding and resistant spring steel reeds. For all these kalimbas, in case of oval shape, it is the smallest dimension which is taken as diameter.
